Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Mmmmmmm, mmmmmmmmm, this place is delicious. This is the dive bar of pizza places. They have beer, burgers, pizza, and everything in between -- especially green river. If youre looking for a fine dinning experience, move along. The service here is great. My fiance and i had no problems ordering and getting out food in a timely fashion. The food is awesome! I was quite pleased with my individual pepperoni and mushroom pan pizza; while she enjoyed her MONSTER pizza buff. Everything was hot, well cooked, and taken care of in the kitchen. Their prices are so reasonable. We ate: chedder jalapeños, pizza puff, pan pizza, and a green river. Our bill was under $20. You want fast, awesome, and cheap pizza -- eat here.

Let's just say...I would only get a pizza puff from here. They are AMAZING. So...if you ever want one, don't go anywhere but here to get one. Because Grassano's really knows their pizza puffs. I'm going right now to get one!
(5)Kelly W.
This place is legendary in the southwest suburbs for their pizza puffs. They are homemade, large, and delcious!!!! It is a perfect place for take out--the inside dining area isn't the greatest. But if you do decide to dine in, they have cheap pitchers of beer along with their delcious pizza. I haven't been here in a few months, but writing this review makes me want to go there right now!!! If you're looking for great, cheap, pizza in the suburbs... look no further!
(4)John N.
I absolutely love their deep dish pizza and pizza puffs. I usually order out when I decide to have Grassano's and their service hasn't failed me once. Compared to other pizza parlors and restaurants their food is consistent. Prices are very reasonable and there are few parking spots. Inside is cramped and tiny, so make sure you suck in that beer belly.

My sister just moved in the Burbank area and I was looking for a pizza place! I checked yelp and Grassano's was the closest location. So I called them and asked if they had pizzas that were ready or if you have to order in advance. She stated that we order in advance. I thought 'that's fine and said "oh, ok no problem can I order..." Which I was interrupted from placing my order by the woman who "ugggh ( in frustration because I started to place my order) and asked "Ugh, will this be pick up or delivery?" How hard would it have been to allow me to place my order and then ask or ask with out the "UGHHHHING" I thought that was really rude and decided to try some another place. Buddies Pizza, it is! Hope it's good! That phone conversation started the same but ended a lot more polite than Grassano's! I read a few reviews on Grassano's apparently they are rude there.
(1)Will A.
Sweet sauce, not a bad pizza, lots of food for your money but the woman at the register had no manners and was rude. Pizza puffs are greasy so if your stomach is sensitive save yourself a trip to the toilet and a few rolls
(3)kevin G.
Food Poisoning!!!! The pizza we got from this place made my whole family sick with diarrhea and vomiting. We went to the doctor and was told it was food poison likely caused by nastiness and unwashed hands.
(1)Kristin C.
This is my all time favorite local pizza place ever!! My family has been ordering from them since they opened at their prior location. Huge made to order pizza puffs, amazingly seasoned thin crust pizza, and just about the only restaurant which serves the delicious combination of garlic dressing with their breaded mushrooms. Always reasonably priced and delicious!!!

Two words: pizza puff. (Fried not baked because if you bake it, which they will do, it's no longer a pizza puff my friend, it's just a calzone.) I was introduced to the Grassano's pizza puff at 16, and 12 years later, it's just as epic. They're ginormous and dirt cheap (like under $5). I usually go for the cheese puff, easy sauce, but every now and then I get crazy and order the BBQ chicken or cheese with fresh garlic. And if, somehow, you're still hungry after the gooey, cheesy pizza puff, go for the apple dessert puff. Be warned though, they're the exact same size as the pizza puffs! Trust me when I tell you, it'll be the best $3 dessert you've ever ordered. I've also had their pizza, and it's equally as awesome. I love that they use BBQ sauce on their Hawaiian style pizza. However, if I'm ordering Grassano's, 99% of the time it's because I want a pizza puff.

OMG, OMG, OMG....This PIZZA is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. Like many of you I have tried them all. There is none better anywhere. Grassano's has a unique taste all it's own. I have had pizza on cruise ships, and in New York, and in many midwest states and downtown Chicago and there is NONE better than GRASSANO'S. The cheese melts perfectly and cradles around the sausage underneath it with the so perfectly cooked golden crust, and the secret sweet tomato sauce all combining together to make it nothing short of incredible! I have been coming here since it's opening many many years ago. Every Pizza I/we have had has been done perfectly. The staff has always been nice, friendly smiling, hard working and very attentive and polite. Dining room is cozy. When you go stick with a basic cheese and sausage as other ingredients will mask the true flavor. Keep it simple-IT IS AWESOME.

Ok so I have been to this pizza place about 5 times and have ordered delivery from them about 3 times... I do enjoy the food when I dine in.. When they deliver the food it always comes cold.. They really need to invest in a little pizza carrier that will keep it warm on the drive over.. Anyways I would have defiantly given this place a much better review if it wasn't for there RUDE employees!!! Every single time I've gone it's been the same thing.. And it's not just one Rude employee they are ALL rude!!! The reason I'm writing this review today is because my girlfriend ordered a pizza puff for pick up, they told us it would be a half hour. So she shows up 30 min later to pick it up and when my GF told her she was there for a pick up the lady told her that it would be another 20min wait... So when my GF told her they said 30 min the lady told her ( NO WE DIDNT!!)and tried to argue and make it seem like she lie they were rude and tried to make her feel stupid so I'm writing this review to let ppl know that you might get cold food on a delivery and if u try and dine in they will IGNORE you and AVOID you so they don't have to do any work and they will be RUDE to you if you need any thing extra!!
(1)John J.
Used to eat there often years ago....was great! Now...horrible attitudes, lack luster food quality, slow service, and high prices. Not recommended at all. Their help is useless. 1.5 hours for 2 sandwiches.....that's crazy. And the excuses...one after another. Avoid this dump folks....
(1)mike d.
this place is awesome and u cannot beat the prices

Me and my S.O have been here plenty of times and only about 2 times out of 10 did anything ever go wrong (and it's understandable because they happened to be very busy and it's easyy for them to get busy because the place is relatively small). I usually order the Bosco Breadsticks, which I know are frozen but I do happen to like them. I went at about 6 p.m. yesterday since me and my S.O was starving after work. This time I ordered a large pizza half jalapeno & olive and half cheese pizza. We also ordered a beer, 2 pops, 2 orders of bosco sticks, and cheese fries. Obviously we took most of this home with us, but everything was very tasty. It all came out to $28.00 - which it is impossible to go to a restaurant and order that much food & drinks ... and pay under $30.00. I'm down. Honestly, I didn't find *anything* wrong with any of our food and service. This is all I've ever ordered from here was pizza and appetizers. They also sell burgers, beef sandwiches, a lot of very good appetizers, beers (also very cheap pitchers of beer!! A+++), pasta, shrimp. I'm looking forward to trying more items off their menu some time. I keep seeing on here they are famous for their pizza puffs? I shall have to check that out! The service here was anything but rude, so I'm surprised people would be saying that on here. My server was attentive and police. She wasn't rude or had an attitude about getting anything for you. Our drinks and food came out fast & everything was satisfactory. The atmosphere is kind of just old school italian mafia/rat pack themed. You have the Godfather painting on the wall, Al Pacino, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra. I like it in there. They also sell cannoli's, cookie ice cream sandwiches which someone happened to buy the last ice cream cookie sandwich (damn you.) . But I did buy some chocolate bars on the way in. Well Grassano's, ya got me hooked.
(4)Sylvia T.
I really like their pizza. We order from here all the time. We usually get the pepperoni and cheese or mushroom and cheese. Very tasty. The one thing that I was not happy with is that on all their takeout menus, they have it printed that if you save up 15 pizza receipts...you get a free 1 topping pizza. I've probably thrown own more receipts then I saved from here. So when I finally saved up 15...they made me feel like a criminal for trying to get my free pizza. He must have asked me 5 times...are you sure these are all PIZZA receipts? Not like sandwiches and pizza puffs? Uh..yes. I can read. Then he checked all the receipts one by one while I stood their awkwardly and begrudgingly gave me my free pizza with a very annoyed look on his face. Why have a loyalty program if you get mad when people actually use it?! I must have ordered at least 30 pizzas or more to get the 15 receipts because I threw out so many receipts. Anyways, still giving it 3 stars because I like the pizza, but probably going to skip saving receipts from now on.
(3)Melissa B.
One of my new favorite places for carry out. We have tried everything here from appetizers to the huge pizza puff and now we are on a kick of ordering pizza here. Everything is always excellent. If you are a fan of pizza puffs you can order them any way you like and it's HUGE! I'm loving the thin crust here lately. It's really cheap too. Personally, I feel they are a little heavy on the sauce for my liking. Very little though. I think I will just order easy on the sauce from here on out.
(4)Nicole D.
Best pizza ever! Great service.. love their fast delivery. We order at least once a week! My daughter loves their mini tacos
(5)Victoria E.
I like the pizza puffs but a 2 hour wait for one is ridiculous. This place needs to get its act together.
(1)Dave W.
Somehow, the last review went 'missing' from here. Copy and paste and screenshot this time, if ti goes away twice, we will know something is up and take other measures. Okay...so the food is good, ESPECIALLY for the price (remember to use coupons!). Inside is nothing special...nothing horrible either, just not special. The PROBLEM with this place is their customer service is non-existent. That or it exists in the way of having bad luck is like having none at all. If you eat in they will be at the very lowest end of tolerable. If you order for pickup or delivery...yikes! This is ironic, because they literally have a sign behind the check-out that reads "Be nice or leave." Only then they wouldn't have but MAYBE one girl to run the whole front end. (Maybe the people in back making the food are great, but who knows?) They seem mostly related to ownership or at least each other. A friend complained about shoddy treatment, and was basically told that they KNOW the girl who caused the issue is rude, but that the most that would ever happen is she will get written up, never fired. She THEN accidentally mentioned that the rude girl was her SISTER. So you can guess how far THAT complaint will really go. I went there for a pick up of a stuffed bacon pizza...they quoted an hour, which seems a bit long, but it was a weekend night, so...okay. I get there a few minutes late even...they haven't even put the pizza in! Okay....SOOooo...waiting THERE now because they assure me it will be rushed and done in twenty minutes. Half an hour later, I ask about it...turns out they RAN OUT OF BACON. On a Saturday night...they JUST then were sending somebody out to buy more. I ask to speak to an owner...the woman who had previously told me she was a manager NOW says she was an owner...huh, really? So after all that, they FINALLY, like, almost 2 and a half hours later agreed to give me the pizza AND my money. They made a big deal out of that being the FIRST time they ever gave somebody money and food. This was in front of a crammed waiting area...like they wanted an award for being horrible at guest services or something... MANY other stories like this...my office used to order from there three times a week. Now we are down to twice a month. They JUST DON'T CARE. Seriously. Even when they forget something on an order they delivered, they expected us to come pick up what they forgot. "We aren't sending out a driver for just sauce." Food, good...prices, fair...probably don't expect to want to go back if you have to deal with a person though, because the odds of getting the ONE girl that is fairly pleasant are slim. This is my second review because oddly my first one is nowhere to be found...
(1)Dave L.
never again decent pizza decent price. customer service sucks. got a couple slid pizzas finally complained. man said he would send another out, I said i did not have an hour I was not going to wait. he said too bad. I ordered 5 or 6 times a month, always tipped at least four bucks. Spend a couple bucks more and get palermos where they value there cudtomer
(1)Kelly G.
You can't go wrong with their pizza puffs! I've been ordering from here for years and will continue doing so. Quick, friendly, and inexpensive service everytime! (Oh, and I typically have coupons from the previous delivery's menu (: )
(4)Mark G.
Wow. I've been to some small restaurants before. But this place is SMALL. From the outside, it has the appearance of a tiny biker dive bar. And when you get inside, it has the appearance of a...tiny biker dive bar. But it smells better. Given the lack of tables and space, since there were about 7 other customers in here besides us, you could render it busy. And they only had one waitress. Our order was taken quickly, but that's about it. Our pitcher of soda, mozzarella sticks, and pizza all took a while to come. Not good when you're super hungry. As far as the food itself? Mozzarella sticks were basic. They served their purpose. Not bad, not amazing. And the pizza was pretty good. Again, not amazing. Yes, the sauce has a touch of sweetness. I personally like my crust a little crunchier, and this crust seemed just a tad undercooked. Other than it being so hot that I burnt the roof of my mouth, I have no other complaints about the pizza. Oh and I like the fact that they have Tobasco sauce tableside. If it was up to me, every restaurant would have some kind of hotsauce at the table! Pretty good place. Nothing to come out of the way for, but if you're in the area, why not?
(3)Diana R.
This review is for the pizza. I had a pepperoni pizza. The sauce is on the sweeter side which is not to my liking and the cheese is close to tasteless. Pepperoni itself was good, though. The only reason for 2 vs. 1 star is because of the great pricing, and I am down for trying their pizza puffs since I've heard good things.
(2)Melissa H.
For years when I was living with my parents they would occasionally get Grassanos. I dont know I never was a big fan. Flash forward 10 years and I now own a home 5 minutes away in Oak Lawn and something about it, I dont know..I am not converted. If you like Paleramo's Oak Lawn Pizza, you'll probably like Grassano's. To me its sort of a Paleramos/Vito and Nick's hybrid. The sauce is sweet. Some people might be turned off to that. The crust is thin. Again its all personal preference. I am the type to love all types of pizza and I find most of them pretty good, and Grassano's Pizza hits on a few levels Convenience? Check Price? Check! They have an awesome Mon-Thurs deal where you can get 2 large 1 topping pizza for $11, additional toppings are like $2. Who can beat that?! Not to mention they run in like every coupon direct mailer out there. EXCEPT my favorite Valpak...come on Grassano's catch up to the times on that one! Food? Check! As stated Im a fan of their pizza, I usually get Sausage, Green Pepper and Giardinara. Other faves: MASSIVE Pizza Puffs. Seriously they are huge, almost more of a calzone than anything. Cheap pasta dishes (though the sauce is a bit sweet) Meatball Sandwiches are really good too Mini Taco appetizers Cannoli Dessert If you are getting delivery during a game or on a Friday/Saturday night however, be prepared to wait up to an hour. Call ahead.
(4)Jack K.
I eat at Grassano's around twice a week and have never had a problem. They offer the best pizza in the south suburbs for a very reasonable price. I'd suggest it to everyone.
(5)Joel R.
First time here, food was really good, prices amazing! Service needs help but we will be back! Good job Gino!!!
(4)Nazy B.
0 STARS Waited an hour for my pizza when I was told it would only be 45 minutes. Got home to find giardiniera all over my pizza when I specified only half of the pizza was supposed to have that on there. The order was repeated back to me correctly and the order was clearly written on the box. Half of my family members cannot eat giardiniera. When we called to ask for our money back I was laughed at and mocked by the woman on the phone. She told me I could wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for a new pizza to be brought to me or I could have my money back and someone would come pick up the pizza...WHAT? The error was made on Grassano's part and they should have taken the loss. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. Barraco's is right across the street and they would never treat a paying customer like that.
(1)Dnyce E.
This place is flat out "AmaZzzzing"... Their pizza is awesome but their pizza-puffs are dynamic...... So worth the 2lbs of carbs lol.....Seriously like that good. Ive been a loyal customer since they were a little shack in 99'. Now they moved across the street into a nice clean n quaint spot. I commute there from Midway and dnt mind, that alone should be testimony enough for whomever reads this review and mt be on the fence about Grassanos's food.
(4)Paula T.
They bigass pizza puff for under $4? So good.
(4)Stephanie H.
Two words: Pizza Puffs. It's what they're really known for locally. And with good reason! My favorite? Black olive and pepperoni cheese pizza puff. It's amazing. Talking about it here is making me crave one as we speak. They're also open late on weekends, which has been a lifesaver for me on occasion when I've got the late-night snack attack and won't bring myself to suffer through McDonalds or Burger King (eww). Not when you can get a delicious pizza puff loaded with stuff for about five bucks...
(5)Jim S.
Except for someone reviewing a cheeseburger and the pizza, how could 25 reviews only focus on the pizza puff alone and not mention the sandwiches? Rest assured, thats what Im here for..WELL ROUNDED REVIEWING First, based on reviews here I tried the so called awesome pizza puff...theres a few airheads here who said NOTHING is good at this place...IGNORE THEM The pizza puff IS and DOES live up to its legend! I ordered it fried and it wasnt greasy at all. The dough is a combo between puff pastry and pizza dough and is VERY GOOD. Its HUGE. They are $3.75 and only .60 for each extra ingredient. I ordered sausage, mushroom and onion and it was GREEEAAAT!!!!! Cheese is very stringy, sauce is really good and ingredients were great. I also ordered their italian breaded steak with melted mozz w/ giardinara. Their giardinara is really good and HOT! The roll steak and sauce was really tastey and they piled the meat on. The only caveat is the next time I order it I will request they tenderize it a little more as some pieces were kinda tuff. As for the Pizza puff, I will also tell them to fry until golden brown. Tho mine was def cooked, I like a golden brown on my deep fried items no matter what they are. So yeah, Im gonna be working my way down their menu..they have eggplant sammies, pepper and egg sammies....plus I will also try the pizza. Def give this place a chance and get the PP! Oh, and order a sammie and review it as well for god sakes!
(4)J B.
Food is good but good lord the rudest staff in the world. They got my order completely wrong and made it seem like it was my fault. Also if you're always so backed up hire more staff.
(2)Lia Z.
I really used to love their pizza puffs, but I feel like over time they have changed the recipe in some way. I really love their sauce it is very different than any other pizza place in the chicagoland area. Their pizza puff dough also seems more rolled out than it used to making their puffs thinner now. As far as their pizza goes, I really like their pizzas. Their cheese fries are amazing, and so are their sandwiches. They used to have green river on their fountain but I haven't dined here lately, usually just get take out now, so I'm not sure if they still have it but I know a lot of people love that about this place too.
(4)Sarah E.
The food is great. The owner is pretty cool, to.
(4)Monica B.
I used to go here all the time and ever since they remodelled the inside, the food has totally slipped and gone down hill. We ordered a basket of onion rings which were fried with old oil because they were totally overfried brown and burned tasting. We actually sent them back and they didn't charge us for them, but the worst thing was their well known pizza puff changed. It is smaller and something is different with the dough because it doesn't have the same consistency as it used to like it got harder or something because we remember a different softer dough. My husband got the hot wings which were large, but just deep fried chicken legs and wings with hot sauce dumped on them and not a buffalo wing sauce. We won't be going back here not after this train wreck with their food. The service was very unattentive, too.
(1)Al R.
My first time there, and I picked up, so I can't review the service. However, there were a lot of older kids there and I can imagine it being loud and hectic during the rush. Very good pizza. I was impressed by the sauce which was really tasty. I wouldn't say sweet, but it is sweeter than most sauces. The cheese was good and the sausage was very tasty as well. The crust had a great consistency and it wasn't cracker thin, nor was it bread-like-----it was a happy medium.Prices are reasonable and the other items look like they could be a great experience. Can't wait for the pizza puffs. Definitely give it a try. If you get antsy over less than perfect service or possible delivery delays, just go and pick one up and base your review/thoughts on the product alone. You'll probably like it.
(4)Addison T.
You absolutely must try the pizza puffs! So worth it! Each one is made to order and a full meal for a hungry person. One of my favorite places!
(5)Anthony P.
The rating is for the food only, as I only ever order for pick-up. No comment on delivery or dine-in. I don't see myself dining here, either; as others have stated, the whole place is small and pretty cramped-feeling. That said, I have never been disappointed by their pizza. My favorite is the Hawaiian Delight. The ham is good and the pineapple tasty. I'd like to be able to comment on more, but I really only ever have this one! I have had the Bosco sticks, and they were as good as from anywhere else.
(4)Ryan M.
I love the pizza and the pizza puffs but don't try and eat healthy and get your puff baked cause it is not good that way but get it fryed like it is unless requested to be baked and they rock. YES, the dining area is SMALL, but they have 1-2 employees to trake care of the like 5 tables and the food and service is great. I actually tried to order on New Years day and either they were closed or they were that busy that I could not get through. PS. I eat here atleast 25 times a year so that should tell you how good the Pizza Puffs are.
(5)Crystal S.
This is my local (down the block) pizza place and I am quite happy that it is. A few things to know: 1.) Not a place to dine in 2.) Always use a coupon and the prices can't be beat in the area. 2 Lg. pizza's on Monday is only $11. Enough said! 3.) They tend to under cook their crust, so I ALWAYS order my pizza "easy well" and it is perfect! 4.) The pizza cook seems to change from weekdays/weekends. I swear the pizza is better made on a weekday - just saying. With the above noted, they are a staple in the Schultz weekly dining menu, usually on Mondays....cuz Mom usually has a case of the Monday's lol ;)
(3)Justin D.
I really liked this pizza. It's nothing fancy, it just works. The sauce is sweet but not overpowering, the cheese is great, and the sausage isn't too spicy. It all blends together nicely. My only complaint would be the the crust is a little dry and crumbly. I feel like this would be a good pizza for kids. I'd say the price was a little below average for the area so give it a try if you haven't yet.
(4)Desmond D.
That shit was horrible
(1)Nick O.
I have been a major fan of Grassanos ever since high school. On of the best meals you can get for the price. The giant pizza puff is amazing. A ton of ingredients and never leaves you wanting more. I always get the puff with sausage pepperoni and mushrooms. And you have to get it fried. They will bake them as well but its just not the same. They also have great appetizers as well. As far as anything else I couldn't tell you. I've been going here for about 12 years and never never been able to order anything but the puff. So for an epic meal anytime I would say give Grassanos a shot.
(5)Bobby B.
Very plain, generic pizza. There are plenty of other better pizza options in Oak Lawn.
(2)Chad M.
BBQ chicken pizza puffs are great! Good prices all around.
(5)Stephanie P.
Absolutely the worst customer service ever! I've never been a big fan of their food, but my fiance orders from them ALL THE TIME. He also orders food for his employees frequently as well. Anyways, after receiving a messed up order (which is not the first time it has happened, but this was the first time he addressed it) he spoke to the driver because the restaurant had already closed. The driver told him it wasn't a big deal, just to call the next day and he would be taken care of. Well that is not the case. The supervisor he spoke with had a terrible attitude and actually argued with him on the phone for 10 mins over A SANDWICH! Even criticizing him for throwing it away because there are "starving people" out there. Are you kidding me?! I'm sorry if someone doesn't eat cheese and you cover their food in it, they have no reason to eat or save it! I have spent a lot of time in customer service, and I would never talk to someone like that and I'm quite sure none of my employers would ever tolerate someone treating a customer that way. Obviously these people are inconsiderate, unappreciative, and just plain rude! They have lost a loyal and valuable customer!
(1)Lindsey Z.
I ordered from Grassano's pizza in oak lawn. I've been pretty okay with the service until one mistake that they would not take credit for. they did not deliver all of our food we ordered and we payed the price for all the food including the tip. so we called back and asked if they could bring us the food they didn't deliver, which we already paid for. they were going to charge us for the food again and the delivery charge. then they took off the delivery charge but still were going to charge us for the food itself again after we paid for EVERYTHING. We called a second time to try and get half the tip money back because they screwed up the order in the first place and we thought we had all our food. The manager(JIM) on the phone was extremely rude and said "its not the girls fault she put it in the computer wrong." UM YES IT IS! we should not get charged extra, on top of what we just paid for everything we DID NOT get. from 10 customers you will not hear back from !! also one driver named eric needs to check that attitude! the girl answering the phone on nights on fridays needs to change that tone or get a different job!
(1)Ian S.
Their pizza puffs are delicious. They make them big and greasy with fresh ingredients. The pizza is not the best, but it's not bad either and the price is right. It's not the "special occasion" kind of pizza but its doable. Ive been coming here for years, because it's convenient to me. Delivery is fast and they always get your order right.
(3)Jay M.
You know, the four stars represents how good this place was four years ago when I lived on the S.Side. The pizza sauce was sweet, the cheese was high quality, and the ingredients were top notch. The pizza puffs were amazing, bigger than a burrito, and came fried or baked. One warning though... I did make it back there about a year ago and the quality had slid.... drastically. I kinda hope that it was just a bad day, but my friends still in the area tell me that it's always like that now. It's too bad, but until I can confirm, four stars remain.
(4)Lauren S.
Ordered for the first time for my son's birthday party. Tasty pizza, prompt, polite and VERY reasonably priced. Will go again.

The pizza is great, but if you're calling in for delivery have them repeat the order back to you. We order pretty much every week & just about every other week we get the wrong pizza delivered--thin crust instead of deep dish, sausage instead of extra sauce. Back in the day this was never the case & I would have given them 5 stars, but in the last 2-3 years they've started to slip. A credit for my next order is great, but what am I supposed to do with my 6 hungry friends that were expecting a large deep dish, extra sauce, not a large thin crust with sausage? The wait staff are sweethearts, but it seems like the teenagers they've got answering the phones don't pay attention to orders. Their sauce is good--but there seems to be some consistency issues recently. Some days we get a GREAT pizza, sometimes we don't and the sauce tastes burnt? True to back in the day, their pizza puffs are HUGE.

Grassano's is excellent, if only because it's outrageously cheap and actually tasty. I've had some friends say that the sauce is too sweet (I like it), but with a large cheese coming in at around 6 dollars, you really can't beat it. Competing pizzerias charge nearly twice as much.

My parents have been getting their pizza from Grassano's for years, and honestly, it's just an okay pizza joint. Their delivery sure is speedy, and most of the time the pizza is good, and occassionally it's DAMN GOOD. But only occassionally? This is Chicago. "Bad pizza" isn't supposed to exist here. The sauce is sweet, cheeses are okay but could be better, and their pizza crusts are decent, but soggy in the middle. No one likes to see a soggy, sorry piece of middle pizza just sitting there on the pan. It's not like it's his fault he's all soggy. But really, if I'm gonna order thin crust, I want my middle pieces to be halfway decent. Not the case here. The bonus to this place is their pizza puffs. These things kick all kinds of ass. They're HUGE. The quality has gone down in the last year or so, but if I'm getting Grassano's, I'm getting me some pizza puffs, even when I don't get a pizza. For the money, it's a good deal, but if you're craving pizza--really jonesin' for some pizza--skip this and send your money elsewhere.

I've been ordering from Grassano's for over a year. I always get delivery so I can't comment on their location. Their thin crust pizza is quite tasty and I think it's mostly the sauce that makes the taste stand out from most of the other pizza I've had. They put the toppings all the way to the edge of the pizza, which I think is a nice change, once in a while. As much as I like their pizza, I absolutely love their pizza puffs and anyone that gets anything from Grassano's has to try a pizza puff. You have to be careful when eating them as the cheese and sauce can be very hot and very messy. They're pretty big too, so they definitely fill you up. Delivery times are pretty good. They're a few miles from me and they usually take 30 to 40 minutes to get to me. Lastly, the price, IMO is pretty cheap with the coupons they give you. Somtimes they tell you over the phone to have the coupon ready but the driver never actually takes it. I suppose if they ever did take it, you would have another one on the new menu they give youw ith the order anyway. I'm definitely a fan.

Yes service is lacking, sometimes over run with teeny boppers cramming those cheap ass pizza puffs down there throat, but having said that I am usually quite satisfied with the thin crust, not overloaded, not to sweet, certainly not the go to place when you are really craving a pie, but it won't kill you to throw them a bone once in a while. As far as the pizza puffs go, I have never tried one, and never will, they look like a big pillow of dough fried and stuffed, but the dough is not " I don't think any way" pizza dough, it looks like frozen puff pastry. Cheap beer specials, keep this place on my list as well. Prolly a 2 star joint but I don't have it in me to slam a mom and pop, who work so hard at mediocrity .

Their pizza seems to have improved slightly, but my review stays the same because: When I recently ordered a pizza puff, it came fried and not baked. I haven't inquired as to whether I have to specify if I want it baked now or whatnot, but shouldn't the restaurant not assume people want the new fried option when they're famous for their pizza puffs? The thought of that awful fried puff still sets off my gag reflex.

Monday special is stale French bread with Dinner special. I called for the owner the next day, left message with Loiza, no reply. No buy any more.

This place has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My family used to order their pizza for parties when I was a kid, but what keeps me coming back as an adult is their pizza puff. The image of the first one I ever saw is still burned into my memory. It was the biggest I'd ever seen! It was like they literally just folded a whole pizza in half and deep fry it. What could be better? It's the best I've ever had. The wait has gotten a little longer since they were on Chicago's Best, but as a person who makes it into the city a lot, you learn that if something is good, it's worth waiting for, and those puffs are worth the wait.

Called today and they said my order would be ready at 7:00. I saw them put it in the fryer at 7:15 and finally walked out at 7:30. Absolutely ridiculous but typical for Grassanos. Seriously, where is the owner? Does he know he has a bunch of clowns working for him?

Usually just pick up my order or have it delivered, but today we ate inside (waitresses are very 'stone-faced' and not very attentive, hence the 4 stars). We had 2 small pizzas and 2 pizza puffs. The pizzas: sausage, pepperoni and onion (it's ok), and the Hawaiian delight (it was good, bbq sauce enhances the ham and pineapple). The puffs: pepperoni (amazing, as always!) and hubs had the sausage, pepperoni and onion (it was good, but the sauce was a bit thin). Overall, went home with leftovers, happy family!

Yum breaded steak sandwiches and pizza a perfect lunch. This was Rob's first time. He liked the pizza and the steak sandwich. Rob gives his stamp of approval.....

Best pizza puffs in the Chicago land area. I've tried countless others but nothing ever compares to Grassano's pizza puff.

The pizza puffs are huge. Very good quality. I've been by a couple of times with my girlfriend. I will definitely be back for another pizza puff.

It would have been decent pizza if it wasn't cold. But even worse than the cold food was the awful and rude service. They were 30 minutes late delivering, and when I called to check the status I got sass from the person on the phone. I asked the driver if there was any hold up, or why it was late, and his only response was "I didn't realize the time". I would not order again, definitely not worth the hassle. Addition: The owner/manager contacted me the following afternoon and apologized and said that it was unacceptable behaviors and attitudes from his staff. I was impressed by their response, crossing my fingers that it was just a bad mix of staff working that night.

Best pizza puff in the world!! Home made with your choice of stuffings. A total blissful meal!!!!

The guys at work and I always order food. It happens to be that every time we order from this place there is always something missing from the order or they just don't put it on the order even after the order was confirmed. They also lack of customer service. I called back to let them know they missed a few items from my order and they gave me attitude and told me they had no time for my customer complaint. The employee gave me her "name" Tina. I asked to speak to the manager on duty to let him know that there are things that must be fixed. He told me he understood and he agreed with me that they have to appreciate customers and their concerns, unlike Tine, who told me she would call 911 because my call was turning into a harassment because I asked for her to apologize to me. Every time we order something is always more than $100 and they don't appreciate the business, so that tells me this business will go do pretty soon. The food is decent, but not good enough for me to take their crap.

I have never experienced such tasteless service in my life. Both the food and attitude of the workers there have safely reassured that I will never be ordering from them again. I knew this order was going to be trouble when I called the first time, I was put on hold for 5 minutes then someone picked up and asked me to hold again so I waited again because my mother kept telling me how amazing the pizza puffs were. When someone FINALLY picked I was treated disrespectfully. The man taking my order was so rude, the way he was talking made me feel like he was doing me a great favor by taking my order. Anyway, I didn't even finish my order and he hung up on me... WTF? I realize people have bad days, so I wasn't too offended and called again. Not even 10 seconds went by by the time I called back. This time I was greeted by a female, who also rude. All I wanted to do was tell her I want my order to be baked. As I was saying it she yelled over me to hold because she was talking to someone. So against my better judgment, I held. When she came back to talk to me no apology. On to the food, I've had better. And An hour wait for a pizza puff.... Ain't nobody got time for that.

Pizza Puff was great... Needs to have less piled up meat and crispier flake with some parsley on top and garlic salt yum!
(3)Julie M.
I give this one star because I have to give it some sort of star. We waited over an hour and a half for pizza, after it was promised in less than an hour. We called after an hour and 15, then again after an hour and a half. Finally, it showed up and it was cold. I don't know who exactly is to blame, the delivery guy, or the company. Either way, we asked for a discount for the obnoxious wait, or some sort of reimbursement, and got attitude from the lady on the phone. Next time, we choosing another pizza place, or doing pick up.

Stay far away from this place as possible. 30 bucks for a pizza that tasted worse than cardboard. I don't know where they get their ingredients from, but they are as fresh as my socks after an hour of cardio at the gym. And not to mention the wait. 1hr 20min for ONE pizza? Please. Had I known, I would've gone to Domino's.. Hell, even DiGorno's frozen pizza is better! Would've saved my money AND time... and my bowels. P.S. It's interesting how Google gives this place 2 dollar signs ($$) to describe their prices, while Yelp gives one dollar sign.... Definitely no bang for your buck here.

I will never ever order pizza here again, the one I got today was not cooked -- Thank You!!

This restaurant is a rather poor establishment. The customer service is unprofessional and extremely rude, any time you ask a question you get attitude. They don't seem to value their customers at all. The only good thing about this restaurant is that it has delicious food at good prices. It's sad to see a restaurant with so much talent have workers like the ones they currently have. I called to place an order for delivery for my co-workers and I, as I was placing my order the EXTREMELY rude woman gave me nothing but attitude. She hurried me off the phone and failed to ask if I was paying by card or cash, she was very unprofessional. I had to stop her from hanging up on me, and ask her if they accepted card payments for delivery or would I need cash? She sighed and in a rude tone responded "Ughh, yeah, what's the card number?" The only reason I continued with the purchase was because a few of my co-workers have never tried one of the pizza puffs from here. You would think they would be happy about a big order coming in, but she seemed highly displeased by it. Needless to say, this will be the last time I buy food from Grassano's, I'll just go down the street to Barracos! The prices are higher there but so is the professionalism, you can call and place a huge order at any time of the day even during the lunch or dinner rushes and the person taking the order is always polite and friendly. Personally, I'm willing to spend those few extra bucks at a restaurant that seems to value my business!

From the outside Grassano's looks like a small wanna-be pizza place, but everything changes when you go thought those doors. You are greeted by very kind waiters who are there to help you to a table and take your order. The environment is classy and family friendly. The service is amazing. My order was ready in less than 20 minutes given the fact that the place was packed. I ordered the Pizza Puff, and let me tell you, it was delicious. The total on my order came out to be lower than I had expected it to be. Affordable and amazing. A definite recommendation for those looking for a quick but classy meal in the Oak Lawn area.

The pizza puffs here are a godsend ! Mushroom + chicken and you've got yourself a glorious meal ! Sooooo good! Great dining area! Fantastic staff! There's even a bar...well...kinda sorta.

My boyfriend was super excited for me to try this place which totally hyped me up. He called ahead because he knew it would take a while for the pizza puff (deep fried calzone/pizza) to cook. When we got there, they informed us that they were very busy which we were okay with. They sell fountain drinks by the cup for pitcher. Refills on cups cost extra which was whack. after waiting about 5 minutes, one of the girls then came to our table and let us know that the puff would come out sooner because they caught up on their orders. AWESOME! So we get our puff which looked amazing and cut it down the middle...the middle wasn't good. The cheese wasn't melted and the veggies were still raw. The flavor was so good! I knew it had so much potential to be absolutely delicious, but it was so disappointing for them to cook it so bad. I will come back and give it another try.

OH, how I miss your stuffed pizza!!! I moved last summer, and don't get down this way too often... but this is by far the BEST stuffed pizza in all Chicagoland!! The thin cust and pizza puffs are fantastic too!! Love the sweet sauce and crust. I do make special trips when I can to eat here.
(5)Paul M.
This place is THE place for pizza! Just the right crunch and softness in the crust. The sauce is home made and the toppings are things words can not describe. A must try place and my favorite hang out for years to see all my sports game so order pizza grab a beer and enjoy
(5)Paul C.
Decent little neighborhood joint that offers a rather large pizza puff. Now their service is either hit or miss and I've even received a pizza puff that was poor quality before. Still, if you're in the neighborhood and looking for a good, solid pizza. Or even better, a pizza puff that will fill you up, give this dive a shot. Just don't expect the best of service...
(3)Michelle F.
I am so utterly disappointed with this pizza. Holy sh*t. Their pizza puffs are great so I thought we'd give their thin crust pizza a try tonight... What a terrible mistake. It tastes like cardboard. The mushrooms taste like dirt, the onions aren't cooked and the sausage was tasteless. I can't even get over how bad this was. I'm only giving this place 2 stars because their pizza puffs are actually good! What gives with the actual pizza?! Never again.
(2)Kevin M.
I love grassano's pizza been eating it since h.s. Remember back when it was on the North side of 87th. Pizza and the puffs are excellent. Only complaint is the lack of employee's. Every time I go in I see the servers answering the phones, taking orders at tables, and working the carryout. Plus when they say its a 30min wait, its usually 35mins. Otherwise my fav pizza on the southside, best prices, no one can compare

Ordered a pizza at 340pm and it arrived at 520pm. When i opened the door the driver admitted he took a bad/wrong way and that was why it took forever. The pizza and mozzarella sticks were cold and i had to microwave both of them. When i called they could do nothing but offer me a few dollars off my next order or told me I'd have to wait another hour and a half to receive a new pizza. I will never eat here again and you shouldn't either. The lady on the phone did not even hesitate to hang up on me. Horrible service with mediocre food.

It's unfortunate that they have such a great product yet their service is close to the worse I've ever experienced. I ordered a pizza and waited for 45, as they said, to pick it up. I arrived 5 minutes late and it wasn't ready. During my wait time of 30 minutes, none of the employees asked what I was waiting for or any sort of acknowledgement. After waiting 30 minutes I asked for my food. She went to check and pulled all parts of the order out of the warmer. She came back and said someone was cutting it. When getting home, everything was cold. How long does it take for a WELL DONE pizza to get cold, clearly too long. I called to speak to a manager and didn't get a manager and was put in hold for 5 minutes. When the girl came back on the phone she said that they can make a new one or give me a few dollars off the next order. Since I wasn't talking to a manager I asked who was stating these answers. She said Lisa, the owners daughter. How would it make sense to wait another 45 minutes for our order when it's already been 90. Such a shame. Will not be returning.
